iSchool Mailing Lists
The school maintains several mailing lists for sending a variety of information to students, staff, and faculty.

Important Notes All students must subscribe to two lists: to iAnnounce and to the list that corresponds to their respective academic programs (see below). These lists are the channels for official information to be distributed to all iSchool students. Please note that it is your responsibility to subscribe to these two lists. Exceptions will not be made to deadlines or other important information because a student was not subscribed to an email list, or because they did not check their email on a regular basis. |
iAnnounce
The iSchool’s official announcements list for students, faculty, and staff. Everyone is expected to subscribe to this list. The iSchool approves all new subscription requests and moderates the list to insure proper postings. The IT Office subscribes Faculty and Staff to this list at the same time that they create your iSchool account.
iMajors
The official announcements list for undergraduate Informatics majors.
iMLIS
The official announcements list for day MLIS students.
iOnlineMLIS
The official announcements list for OnlineMLIS students.
iMSIM
The official announcements list for MSIM students.
iPHDs
The official announcements list for PhD students.
If you are interested in seeing information that has been posted to a list but you’d rather not subscribe to it, you can browse the archives of the list using a Web browser. Simply go to the web address: http://ischool.uw.edu/resources/listservs.aspx and find the proper link at the top of the page to begin browsing the archives of the desired list. NOTE: You will not be able to post to a list while browsing its archives.
Many classes in the iSchool have their own email lists for instructors to communicate course information to their students. Your instructor will tell you if you need to subscribe to a class list.
