Recommendations for Online MLIS students

All MLIS students enrolled in the iSchool are required to have access to a certain standard of technology, including some types of computer hardware. For information about this standard, please visit the “Technology Requirements” page by clicking here.

Depending on the circumstances, there are a number of businesses that students may want to investigate before deciding to purchase a piece of electronics equipment. For small, relatively inexpensive electronics purchases such as headsets, microphones, and digital cameras, students may want to check out general purpose electronic stores, such as the UW Bookstore’s Tech Center, Newegg, Fry’s, or Costco. For more specialized or expensive items, students may want to do some preliminary research as to the best brands, models, and vendors for their particular user needs.

For more information, visit the iPrep Blog's MLIS Hardware Purchasing Overview section.
