How do I access the iSchool templates in Word OR PowerPoint?
This faq tells you how to set up Office to find the iSchool templates for Word and PowerPoint, and then tells you how to access them.
Set Up for First Time
If the templates don't appear in PowerPoint or Word, use Word to point Office to their location. You'll only need to set it up once to save the location to your profile.
1. Open Word. Click on Tools--> Options--> File Locations tab.
2. Select Workgroup Templates and click Modify, as shown below:
3. Click on My Computer icon--> double-click on iSchool N: drive--> double click on Administration Folders--> double click on Templates--> double click on Office (folder to open will remain blank). Click OK.
Access iSchool Templates for Word or PowerPoint
1. Click on File in the menu (not the icon).
2. Click on New. If New is not visible, you may have to expand the menu by clicking on the double-arrow at the bottom of the menu. Click on New and the New Document pane will open on the right.
3. Click on My Computer. The Templates window will open.
4. Select the General tab. You will see the iSchool templates for the program you're using. The steps are identical for Word and for PowerPoint.
