Recommended software for iSchool students
A number of software titles are licensed by the UW and consequently offered free for download by all current iSchool students.
- Sophos anti-virus software: Anti-virus software is strongly recommended for iSchool Students. If you do not already have an anti-virus program, you can get Sophos for free via the MSDNAA site or the link provided here. Sophos Endpoint Security and Control is the UW's new centrally licensed anti-virus/anti-malware software product. Sophos offers encryption, endpoint security, Web, email, and network access control solutions.
- SSH Tectia client: As an iSchool student you will need to use Secure FTP. SSH Secure Tectia Client is the program that is supported by UW Technology and iSchool IT. This file transfer program allows students to connect to iSchool resources such as the H: and N: drives, and to upload to student webspaces.
