iSchool Technology Knowledge Base

The iSchool has one dual-processor Xeon server available for research computing use. For historical reasons, it is named 'cluster'- at one point a cluster was planned, but is not currently.

Presently, cluster is used for running web applications that can't be run on UW Technology servers, as well as development work.

Things people are currently using the cluster for include:

• Collaboration in software development and deployment
• Serving Java- and certain PHP-based web applications
• Processing, mining and storing data in databases
