How to Configure Entourage 2008 for Mac to use UW Outlook Live
Note: Entourage 2008 works best with UW Outlook Live if you are using the Entourage Web Services Edition. This update was released by Microsoft in late summer 2009. It is highly recommended that you download and install that free update before proceeding with the setup of Entourage.
You can download the Entourage Web Services Update here. This is essentially a completely updated version of Entourage so when you start it for the first time it will have to re-import your settings. Just select File > Import and your old account will be re-imported. Make sure all is working as expected before you proceed with the steps below to configure Outlook Live.
Finally, before setting up Entourage, verify that your Outlook Live account is setup and working properly. You can do that by following the steps in Part 1 and Part 2 on this page. (Note Part 3 talks about Outlook for Windows, skip that and come back to these instructions).
Entourage Setup Instructions:
1. On the Welcome to Entourage page, make sure Start using Entourage without importing anything else is selected. Click the right arrow button. If this is not your first time using Entourage, go to Tools and Accounts and create a New Account.

2. On the Set up Mail Account Page, enter your email address as netid@ol.uw.edu (for example mjones@ol.uw.edu). Note: The ol stands for "Outlook Live" and it is just used during this particular setup step to get your account working. You don't need to use that ever again and your email will still come from @uw.edu when you send messages to others.
3. Select the My Account is on an Exchange server check box. Click the right arrow button.

4. The Entourage Setup Assistant will try to automatically set up your account based on your e-mail address. If Entourage is redirected to the server to get your settings, click Always use my response for this server, and then click Allow.
5. The Entourage Setup Assistant page will appear. Then you'll see the Configuring Account screen while Entourage tries to set up your account automatically.
6. If you're prompted with a message that asks you if you want to allow <server name> to configure your settings, select Always use my response for this server, and then click Allow. The server name listed may be similar to this https://autodiscover-s.outlook.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml.

7. On the Account Information page, leave the domain field blank, enter your UW Live Account (netid@uw.edu) with the corresponding password. Check the "save password in my Mac OS keychain". Click OK.

8. On the next Window, put your name in the "Name" field. Remove the "ol." from the email address (should result in netid@uw.edu). Clear the entry for the LDAP server. Click the right arrow.

9. Click the Verify button on the next window and click the right arrow on success.

10. Enter a descriptive Account name. For example UW Outlook Live. Uncheck "Add this new e-mail address to your "Me" contact" option and click finish.

11. Optionally choose the option to make this account the default.
