Deep Freeze/Administrative rights security model
In order to give the greatest flexibility, while working in the labs, everyone is logged in as a local Administrator allowing software installs and any number of configuration changes to be made to any part of the operating system. We believe in providing an open learning environment and at the same time we want secure reliable machines.
This is why we have chosen to run Deep Freeze, which is a program that will restores every lab system to a fresh state after each reboot. What this means is that if you install a program on a lab machine it will no longer be installed when the machine restarts.
This ensures that our machines stay up and running with the least amount of interruptions due to accidental configuration changes, software bugs, spyware, malware and viruses.
