Labs
Roaming Profile
The iSchool labs are set up to use Windows roaming profiles that follow you when you use different computers in the iSchool. Whenever you customize your working environment, the changes follow you. For instance, you may change your desktop wallpaper, create your own set of “Favorites” in Internet Explorer, change your options in Word; these customizations will move with you as you use different machines in the labs, GA, or PhD workspaces.
Occasionally, however, your profile can become corrupt or outdated. For example, if we install new versions of software and move software around on the machine’s hard drive, your profile may be looking for that software in the wrong location, or the software may not come up with all the default options set properly or set the way you prefer. Occasionally, you may also see broken icons on your desktop or the Start Menu.
To reset your profile to the default setup, visit: http://www.ischool.washington.edu/technology/accountmgmt.aspx
Important Note To reset your roaming profile, you must log in with a different account (use the labpc account in the Labs) when resetting your profile. If you try to reset it from your own login, the reset will fail. |
