Producer Presentations advance slides but audio does not play

If students are finding that their presentation uploads, but the audio is not playing, then most likely the problem is the upload tool.  To check, remove the "Default.htm" from the end of the URL that links to the presentation.  The directory contents that show up will have 2 or 3 .ASX files.  Save any one of them to your computer and open it in Notepad.  If the file text looks like this:

<ASX version = "3.0">
<!-- Producer-generated file -->

instead of this:

<ASX version = "3.0">
<!-- Producer-generated file -->
  <ENTRY>
    <REF HREF
= "mms://media.students.washington.edu/Your_UWNetID/presentations/intro_wmv
_files/1MM0.wmv"/>
  </ENTRY>
</ASX>

then that is the problem.  You will need to copy each of the .ASX files, editing them so that the HREF is a single, complete URL and then upload them overwriting the existing, incorrect files.  You should use the Secure FTP tool (from the UWICK) to upload them to the appropriate destination in your public_html folder on the UW server.

Once the .ASX file is fixed, you should be able to browse to the Default.htm file in the folder where your presentation lives and view the presentation.
