LCD font deuglification with ClearTweak
If you are one of the many LCD users at the iSchool then this little tip is sure to have your eyes smiling again!
All iSchool computers have a program called ClearTweak installed by default. You can find it within the start menu in the All Programs -> Accessories folder; look for the ClearTweak application.
ClearTweak is a freeware program available for download from ioIsland.com.
To get the best settings from ClearTweak, I set my font smoothing to ClearType and then adjust the contrast down to 1000, which is the lowest setting. After you've made these changes you can close ClearTweak and it will keep the font smoothing turned on, even after a restart.
FYI: There is a new version available (2.6) that has an option to switch from RCB to BGR mode, which helps get rid of a weird red outline some LCD panels have. I was able to fix this by adjusting my contrast setting to 1000 in versinon 2.5.
